The city's planning staff are recommending against a proposal to build a 9-storey, 118-unit apartment building at 1103 and 1111 Westdel Bourne, saying it's too much development for the site and doesn't fit the surrounding neighbourhood. This is a scaled-back version of an earlier plan for a 12-storey, 220-unit project that Council sent back for revisions last September, and it would require changing the property's zoning from single-family housing (R1) to a special apartment zoning (R9) plus an amendment to the city's official plan.
