1837 Churchill Avenue

City staff are recommending that 1837 Churchill Avenue be rezoned from Neighbourhood Facility and Residential R2 (a zone allowing duplexes and similar low-density housing) to a Neighbourhood Facility Special Provision zone, which would allow Al-Taqwa Academy to expand its existing private school and place of worship building. The plan includes a two-storey addition, a new gymnasium, relocated parking and vehicle access moved to Edmonton Street, and new outdoor amenities like a soccer field and basketball court, bringing the total building area to about 5,530.6 square metres.
